The project aims to realize Viet Nam’s earlier commitments, promote the efficiency of connectivity for socioeconomic development, ensure national interests, improve the country’s role and competitiveness among others.

The project figures out solutions, including strengthening investment in transport infrastructure system, cross border transport connectivity, improvement of transport services, mobilization of resources for connectivity, human resource development, and improvement of institutions and capacity for international integration.

Specifically, businesses are encouraged to modernize land transport vehicles while technical norms of road will be increased in accordance with those of ASEAN countries.

Regarding sea transport, Viet Nam will prioritize the development of multimodal transportation, increase the capacity to accommodate cruise ships while formulating a fleet of cruise ships, according to the project.

The project also includes measures to develop domestic airlines and tourism through railway development./.
