According to the PM's directions, the province needs to realize measures to complete the 2015 plan, reach and exceed socio-economic criteria as well as accelerating the implementation of its economic restructuring plan in the 2014-2020 phase.

Long An Province should take advantage of its position in the southern key economic area and as a gateway connecting the Southeast and Southwest regions.

In addition, the province needs to create a favorable environment for investment and business, mobilize resources for construction of crucial projects and transport infrastructure, especially the ones connecting new industrial parks and urban areas, propose policies to attract all economic sectors to invest in agriculture, apply high technology into production and reduce the agricultural density by 19%.

The PM urged the southern province to accelerate the development of education, health care, high quality human resource training, implement social security policies, maintain political stability, strengthen national defense and ensure social security and order.

The province’s economic growth rate achieved 11.1% in the 2011-2014 phase. In 2014, its export turnover reached US$3.3 billion, up 15.8% against the previous year.
