PM busy with bilateral meetings on COP21 sidelines

VGP - On the sidelines of the ongoing Paris climate summit, PM Nguyen Tan Dung had bilateral meetings with leaders from the UK, Germany, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Brazil, the Netherlands, Austria, Norway, Finland, Chile, Iran, Cuba, Thailand, Cambodia, the Philippines, Ukraine, Slovenia, Algeria, Bulgaria, Italy, Panama, New Zealand and Latvia.

At the meetings, PM Dung affirmed Viet Nam’s consistent policy on promoting and deepening friendship and cooperation practically and effectively with all countries. He expressed his gratitude to the countries’ supports to Viet Nam’s sustainable development and asked for further practical supports to national construction and development in the future.

The leader also suggested specific measures to enhance multi-faceted cooperation with these countries and wanted them to work closely with Viet Nam at multilateral forums and support Viet Nam’s candidacy for the United Nations’ important agencies.

PM Dung reaffirmed that Viet Nam would promote its responsible role in the international community and make contributions to preserving the peaceful and stable environment for regional and international development. He called on international friends to support the stance of Viet Nam and ASEAN on  the East Sea issues.

Leaders of the countries expressed their admiration to Viet Nam’s socio-economic and cultural achievements and spoke highly of the country’s role in Asia Pacific and the international arena and its positive contributions to coping with climate change.

They expressed their pleasure with sound developments in bilateral relations with Viet Nam and affirmed their wishes to foster friendship and all-round cooperation with the country in the future.

The leaders discussed numerous measures to boost relations with Viet Nam, affirmed their commitments to support the country in national development and responses to climate change and supported the stance of Viet Nam and ASEAN in issues related to the East Sea.

PM Dung also met with President of the World Bank Group Jim Yong Kim, President Kim Young-mok of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Young-mok Kim and CEO and Chairperson of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Naoko Ishii.
